OrthoMinds, LLC, a software company that provides back-office systems to orthodontic practices, has notified patients that files stored on some of its databases may have been viewed by someone outside the company. OrthoMinds says it first learned of the issue in November 2024 and, after investigating, determined that certain files and folders were potentially accessible to outsiders between November 17 and November 27, 2024. The company describes this as a network intrusion rather than a lost device or an employee mistake, and says it has since tightened its technical safeguards and reviewed its internal policies.
