Sentinel Security Life Insurance Company and Atlantic Coast Life Insurance Company, along with their current and former affiliates, say they discovered suspicious activity on their computer network on April 15, 2025. After investigating, the companies determined that an unauthorized actor had accessed certain internal systems and potentially accessed or acquired files stored on them between April 7 and April 15, 2025. This is a case of hacking or system intrusion rather than a lost device or an insider mistake. The companies say they secured their environment, notified federal law enforcement, and spent several months reviewing the affected files before confirming, on December 17, 2025, that a specific individual’s information was included.
