Artivion, a medical device company, has notified current and former employees and their family members that an unauthorized third party gained access to its network and obtained certain files. The company detected suspicious activity, shut down affected systems as a precaution, and brought in outside cyber experts to investigate. That investigation determined the intrusion occurred between November 20 and November 21, 2024, and it took until June 9, 2025 for Artivion to complete a detailed review of the files to identify which individuals were affected and confirm their contact information.
The letter is addressed to current and former Artivion employees and their families whose information was found in the accessed files. Artivion has not stated an aggregate number of people affected in the portion of the notice provided.

Artivion is offering affected individuals a complimentary two-year membership to Equifax Credit Watch Gold, which includes credit monitoring, identity restoration assistance, and up to $1,000,000 in identity theft insurance. You can enroll at www.equifax.com/activate using the unique Activation Code included in your individual letter, and be sure to check that letter for your specific Enrollment Deadline.
What should you do now?
- Enroll in the free Equifax Credit Watch Gold membership Artivion is offering, using the activation code in your letter, before the stated deadline.
- Because your Social Security number, driver’s license, and passport number may have been exposed, consider placing a free credit freeze with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to make it harder for anyone to open new accounts in your name.
- Place a fraud alert on your credit file, which is free and requires only one credit bureau to notify the other two.
- Review your bank and direct deposit account activity closely for any unauthorized changes or transactions, since direct deposit information was involved.
- Request your free weekly credit reports at annualcreditreport.com and watch for unfamiliar accounts or inquiries.
- Given the mix of SSN, ID, and health insurance data involved, consider signing up for a service like Aura or LifeLock, which can alert you if your information appears elsewhere.
- If you notice suspicious activity, file a report with the FTC at identitytheft.gov and with your local police department.
